- Smother Party will except most forms of financing,
please no stolen credit cards... unless of course they can not
be traced.
- No one in Smother Party is a homosexual nor a drug addict, however
they are known to associate with and befriend if not openly
embrace such social deviates.
- Roger Laroque, Nel Carter's ex-hubby, famed for his work
with "New Kids on the Block" & "Dirty Dancing", produced
and engineered the first "D.P." release.
- Smother Party's favorite bands include: Frank Zappa, Black Flag,
Sly and the Family Stone, Gang of Four, King Crimson, Ween,
Ministry, Revolting Cocks, P.I.L., Mahavishnu Orchestra, Pixies,
Frank Black, Ed Hall, Bark Market, Jesus Lizard, Melvins, Chrome,
Helios Creed, Henry Rollins, Bomb, Soundgarden, Skinny Puppy,
Peter Gabriel, Daisy Chainsaw, Bowie, Iggy, Vintage Bee Gees and
Village People.
... I forgot to mention "KISS".
- Z on song writing: "I don't really write the songs,
rather whole songs come to me like a massive mural that I
then have to reproduce with the band as quickly as possible
before the mural fades".
- Smother Party has been around for almost ten years. Being
they were ten years ahead of their time when they first began
puts them right on schedule for becoming the next "Big Thing"
since Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna and Abba!
- Z's favorite all time folks are Bucky Fuller, Grand Master
Yip Man, W. S. Burroughs, The Amazing Randi (whom was his
mentor & foster dad), Malcom McDowell and anyone less fortunate
than himself.
- Bands Smother Party/D.P. remember playing with while on
tour in 1994: Super Nova, Medicine, The Gits, Chokebore, Morticia,
Strap, Body of souls, Skull Flux, Baby Land, Tina Age 13, Meth 25,
Dr. Eagle Sperm Cannon L.S.D. (licensed suicide doctor).
Smother Party has also graced the stage with the Dead Milkmen,
Bomb and many other popular and not so popular bands.
- One of the band's most memorable shows to date was in
San Francisco at a 24 Hr. bar called "The Pit" with the
"White Trash Debutantes".
- Smother Party will sleep on the floor of more living rooms
then previously imagined possible during their next tour.
- Z cried for hours upon hearing the death of Frank Zappa.
- Nicki T. once provoked a fight with an armed D.E.A. agent in S.F...
- Justin V has posed for the J.C. Penny catalog.
- The meaning of Smother Party can be found in William S. Burroughs
book "Naked Lunch", where the band found its new name.
- Z, before he became a guitarist, was a session bass player
in Hollywood. He jammed with rock icons Axl Rose, Billy Idol,
Jason Bonham, Tower of Power and many others.
- Z has played drums for Seattle's "Bam Bam", singer for
Philadelphia's "M-Fakter", bassist for L.A.'s "Mighty Hornets" &
Jessy Loya's "Molesters".
- Z is the bands certified "Punk Rock Star", however, he is
reluctant to admit to this.
- Justin V is oblivious to all the women that want to "DO" him...
typical drummer!
- After auditioning drummers for two years Smother Party accepted
Justin V, March 1995.
- Smother Party auditioned Los Angeles bass players for 3 years
before hiring Nicki Tedesco, April 1992.
- Smother Party expects to break out of obscurity by the end of the
year... not sure which year?
- Z was asked to feature in Chicken John's "Circus Ridicules"
but abstained due to the up and coming Smother Party megaworld tour.
- Justin V saved a kitten from being brutally tortured by a gang
and their pit bull.
- Smother Party can be requested on radio stations KTUH, Radio Free
Hawaii & The Edge . Smother Party might be sold as Daddy's Protein.
- "Beach Ball" is Smother Party's only near release.
